Landing at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport can be stressful enough. The last thing you want is guessing taxi prices, walking around the parking with luggage, or arguing at the curb.
CTaxi was built to fix exactly that problem.
Instead of random “per trip” prices, CTaxi uses clear distance-based fares and lets you book online through a web app: no downloads, no accounts on app stores, just a clean link.
CTaxi Platforms
- Rider web app: app.ctaxi.io
- Driver portal: driver.ctaxi.io
- Business & NGO dashboard: business.ctaxi.io
In this guide, we’ll explain:
- How airport pickups work in Beirut in real life
- How CTaxi handles drop-offs and pickups at the airport
- The exact formulas we use to calculate fares
- The fixed airport fee we add to cover parking
- How to book and track your ride completely online
How Airport Pickups Really Work in Beirut
If it’s your first time arriving in Lebanon, it helps to know how the airport is organized.
Departures – Drop-off Area
For departures, all cars and taxis can drive to the departure doors, drop you off, and then exit the airport road. It’s quick and straightforward. With CTaxi, your driver will:
- Drop you at the correct terminal entrance
- Help with luggage if needed
- Exit the airport road directly (no extra parking)
Arrivals – Why Most Taxis Wait in the Parking
For arrivals, things are different:
- Only the official airport taxis working “beldour” (turn-by-turn queue) are allowed to stand directly at the arrivals curb and take passengers from there.
- All other taxis and companies – including CTaxi and private drivers – must wait in the official parking areas.
- Passengers then walk to the parking (through the tunnels and crossings) to meet their driver.
Some large companies even rent underground parking spaces for their fleets. Others use regular parking levels (e.g. “B4”) and guide passengers there.
So if you book with any non-airport-queue taxi company, you should expect:
- A short walk from arrivals to the parking
- A parking fee added to the cost of your trip
CTaxi is fully aligned with this system – but we try to make it as easy and organized as possible.
How CTaxi Handles Airport Pickups
When you book a CTaxi ride from the airport, the process is:
- You book online through the web app (app.ctaxi.io) and choose Beirut Airport as your pickup.
- Your driver parks in the official parking.
- The driver contacts you via the app / WhatsApp and tells you exactly where they are (for example: “Underground B4, column C5”).
- If you want, the driver can meet you inside the arrivals area holding a sign with your name, then walk with you to the car.
- You both walk together to the parked car and start the trip.
This is the normal and legal way non-airport-queue taxis operate in Lebanon – we just make it organized, polite and transparent.
Airport Drop-Offs
For drop-offs to the airport, your driver:
- Picks you up from your location
- Drives you to the departure doors
- Drops you as close as possible to your airline area
- Ends the trip and exits the airport road
Transparent, Distance-Based Pricing (Current CTaxi Tariffs)
CTaxi prices are calculated using two parts:
- Base fare for the first 4 km
- A fixed amount per extra 100 meters after 4 km
Current tariffs (at the time of writing) are:
Standard car (up to 3 passengers)
- First 4 km: $5.50
- Each extra 100 m: $0.085
7-seater (up to 6 passengers)
- First 4 km: $9.00
- Each extra 100 m: $0.11
Minivan
- First 4 km: $15.00
- Each extra 100 m: $0.14
SUV
First 4 km: $12.00
Each extra 100 m: $0.12
Business class
- First 4 km: $12.00
- Each extra 100 m: $0.12
These tariffs are the same whether you are going to the airport or coming from it – we only add a small, fixed airport fee (explained next).
Note: Prices can be updated over time based on fuel, costs and regulations. The final fare in the web app is always the one to rely on.
Airport Fees: What We Add and Why
Because non-airport taxis must use the official parking when picking up passengers, there are parking costs that don’t exist on normal city trips.
Instead of hiding those charges, CTaxi adds a clear, fixed airport fee:
- From anywhere to Beirut Airport: $3 added to the normal trip fare
- From Beirut Airport to any area in Lebanon: $6 added to the normal trip fare
That’s it. No “surprise” parking fee at the end, no random amount decided by the driver.
Example Fares for Beirut Airport Trips
To make things even clearer, here are approximate examples using the current tariffs.
(Exact prices in the app may vary slightly depending on the exact route and traffic.)
Example 1 – Around 8 km (e.g. central Beirut ↔ airport)
Standard car (up to 3 passengers)
- Base distance fare for 8 km ≈ $8.90
- To airport → +$3 airport fee → ≈ $11.90
- From airport → +$6 airport fee → ≈ $14.90
7-seater
- Distance fare for 8 km ≈ $13.40
- To airport → ≈ $16.40
- From airport → ≈ $19.40
Example 2 – Around 20 km (e.g. airport ↔ further areas)
Standard car
- Distance fare for 20 km ≈ $19.10
- To airport → ≈ $22.10
- From airport → ≈ $25.10
Minivan
- Distance fare for 20 km ≈ $34.40
- To airport → ≈ $40.40
- From airport → ≈ $43.40
Again, these are illustrative examples so you understand how the math works. When you book in the CTaxi web app, you will always see the exact fare estimate for your route before you confirm.
